Reports reveal large numbers of motivated buyers and sellers are interacting in the market. This means that the prices for homes have moved up by up to 30% over the past year in some markets. Some savvy real estate investors have admitted that they have never seen a market that has turned so aggressive since the 1970s.
Market demands are also up by 25% in a number of states across the country. Investors are willing to part with their money to make sound buys. This is good news for the sellers who have been in the dark for decades, especially when it comes to favorable rent prices. 52% of correspondents that were interviewed in a survey said that this is the time to sell a home. Consequently, the number of sellers has increased by up to 32%, the highest since 2011. Though slightly alarming, these figures play an important role in balancing the demand and supply, which have been major player in determining market price.
The favorable interest rates are quite instrumental in helping buyers survive in the market. The low-interest rates have allowed for return on investment up to 15x higher than the returns from the money market. This means that banks and buyers are more focused on investing in real estate.
Now that rent has been rising rapidly, more people are consider buying than renting because it can be cheaper. In most cases, buyers are willing to occupy part of the property and rent the other. Buyers are also favored by mortgage rates which have significantly reduced and stabilized for the past two years.
However, there are other reasons why people sell and buy homes. According to a recent survey done among homeowners, people answered with a wide variety of reasons as to why they sell and buy homes. For instance, some said that they wanted to live somewhere new and enjoy new experiences. Others said that they needed a home with different amenities and/or more space to accommodate new additions to their families. Some were simply influenced by more desirable locations and weather.
However, sellers face challenges when it comes to making their home marketable. Most of them lack ways of making their houses attract buyers with good rates. For instance, most of them still don’t know how to make improvements in their existing homes in order to sell. Some of them are also having challenges on finding an ideal new home to move into.
