Born in San Marcos, Texas , Lucious Jackson played college basketball at Pan American College and was a member the U.S. Olympic basketball team that won the gold at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Mr. Jackson is a very humble man. He doesn't offer up much information about his glory days as a basketball player. The Calaboose African American History Museum is located in the heart of San Marcos, Texas. The Calaboose was built in 1873 as the first Hays County Jail. Whensoldiers came to town for entertainment and to mingle with locals, they went to racially segregated United Service Organizations (USO) facilities. The African American USO was in the Calaboose!
